FORTHCOMING EVENTS - FOR 2009
10th JULY 2009 - SUMMER BALL
A very dear friend Sue Nicholls has kindly agreed to take on the organisation of another Summer Ball to remember Emily around her Birthday.
The Venue will again be at Frier Manor Country Hotel, but will be in their larger venue, 'The Coach House'. Again they have agreed to put on a simimlar menu to the last one and the standard was outstanding.
I do hope the support for this year's Ball will be as good as last year's. Watch this space!!

RECENT EVENTS - 2009
The London Marathon
Karen Berry - Successfully completed The London Marathon in just 5 hours 18 minutes. We are extremely thankful to Karen for taking on this amazing personal challenge.
Well done to Karen, we know Emily would be so thrilled to think fundraising is still happening in her name and memory and for such a great casue.

THE EMILY BEGG GOLF DAY

Another successful fundrasing day for
The Teenage Cancer Trust
The second year for the 'Emily Begg Golf Day', orgainised by Fr Julian Wiener, Team Leader at Basildon Catholic Team Ministery, was another great success. Keen golfers teed off at Stockbrook Manor Country Club, in Billericay, and once again a very enjoyable day was had by all. Another £1,500 was raised on the day for the Emily Begg Fund.
Thank you once again to Fr Julian for organising this day and for his continued support.

ADIDAS 5K WOMENS CHALLENGE
HYDE PARK, LONDON

Special friend Marian took up the challenge and ran the 5K to remember Emily. Marian was joined by friends, Margaret O'Doherty, Teresa Warren, and daughter, and Linda Labette who also ran for Emily. The money raised was for the Emily Begg Fund for The Teenage Cancer Trust. It was a really enjoyable day and remained rain free. This is an annual event and fantastic day out, with Capital Radio supporting the event throughout the day.
Thank you also to Ann Braham-Everett for also taking part and remembering Emily on this day.
Thank you all so much for supporting Emily's charity in this way.
If anyone would like to take up the challenge next year why not join us and the celebrity ladies and elite athletes who take part each year.

THE LONDON TRIATHLON
AUGUST 2008

NATHAN ADAMS
Well done and thank you so much.
Nathan a good friend of Emily's best friend Emily Kenny, decided to train and take part in the London Triathlon, in August 2008. Nathan was just increadible, and managed to look as fresh at the end as he did at the beginning. It was a great day and we were so happy to be able to cheer him on. Nathon raised in the region of £500, which is just incredible and again he did it for Emily's chosen charity. Emily must be dancing with joy.

SUMMER BALL - IN HONOUR OF

Special friends and family attended the Summer Ball in honour of Emily. The evening was special and magical, I know Emily would have loved it. The evening was a great success and thanks to friends and family the event raised £3,000 for the Emily Begg Fund.

Ready for the challenge
IPSWICH FC GROUND - TO COLCHESTER FC, LAYER ROAD, COLCHESTER
Well Em kept the rain off whilst 15 Friends and family undertook the challenging cycle ride which took around 4 hours. Although not the easiest route everyone enjoyed the day and arrived in time to see the game, which saw Col U win 2-0 - definitely worthwhile.
Sincere thanks to everyone for taking part.

QUIZZ NIGHT

Thanks to a good friend Francis Wieley who organised a most enjoyable evening. The hall was packed with friends for this very successful evening. Emily's school friends attended and clearly she is not forgotten. The evening raised around £1,500 which included a raffle and aution for Afternoon Tea for two at the Ritz, who went to John (Elvis) who bid around £220, amazingly after securing this prize he generously donated it to Stuart and Colleen Begg and we would like to offer our heart felt thanks for his generosity.. We look forward to a very memorable afternoon.

This is an evening with some of London's leading chefs joining forces under the direction of Paul Gayler, Executive Chef at The Lanesborough Hotel, to prepare and host a sumptuous dining experience.

Update 10 March 2008 - The Evening at Sheraton Park Lane was a fantastic evening, attended by more than 350 guests. Everyone had a most enjoyable time and thanks to an amazing man and great friend Paul Gayler who without his committment and vision, this would never have happened. We would also like to thank 3 very special chefs Andrew Bennett, Henry Brosi and Simon Young who joined forces with Paul to make the evening a team effort.
It was one of the most incredible events, with many top chefs giving up their time and on the night made the evening both original and a major success. Last but not least Brian Turner kindly hosted the evening, and his charming and witty approach, meant the evening was both humours and fun.
Thanks to everyones generosity the evening was a huge success for The Emily Begg Fund and a staggering £64,000 was raised.
We know Emily would be amazed, delighted and honoured that this is happening in her name.
Together people can make a difference and you should all be very proud.

CAFE SPICE NAMASTE

Top London Chef Cyrus Todiwala - (Cafe Spice Namaste) is holding a dinner and Champagne reception at Westminster Kingsway College in conjunction with the 'Cooks for the Cure' appeal set up by Executive Chef of the Lansborough Hotel in Hyde Park, Paul Gayler.
The five course menu will be expertly prepared by students and lecturers at Westminster Kinsway and the evening will also feature a raffle and an auction. The funds raised will go to Emily's fund and will be restricted to the new TCT unit at Addenbrooks Hospital in Cambridge.

UPDATE ON PAST FUND RAISING EVENTS- 2007
THE GREAT NORTH RUN 30 September 2007
Paul and some of the UK's top Chefs successfully completed The Great North Run last September.
The team captained by Paul Gayler included Andrew Bennett, of Sheraton Park Lane, Henry Brosi of The Dorchester, Tony Cameron of the Oriental Club, Ray Lorimer of Unilever Foodsolutions, Martyn Nail of Claridges and Stephen Scuffell of the Crown Moran Hotel.
The Team not only achieved some personal goals but also raised an amazing £25,000 for The Emily Begg Fund. Absolutely brilliant.

THE EMILY BEGG GOLF DAY 5 November 2007
Golfers helped to raise more than £3,000 for The Emily Begg Fund.
Father Julian Wiener, team leader of Basildon Catholic Team Ministry, organised a fundraising golf competition at Stock Brook Country Club in Billericay, in memory of Emily. More than 50 golfers teed off at the fundraising event. The day was enjoyed by all those who took part and Stuart was delighted to be able to join in the fun.
