The Emily Begg Fund for Teenage Cancer Trust

Now stands at £360,000

This would be able to fund 3 rooms at the new Teenage Cancer Unit at Addenbrooke's Hospital Cambridge

About the Fund

Emily was fortunate enough to be treated at the Teenage Cancer Trust unit at University College Hospital in London, a centre of excellence, which opened in July 2005.

She was one of the first patients with Leukaemia to be treated there and was a key player in its official opening. Emily found the unit a great help during the many months she spent in hospital.

The special relationships she formed with other teenagers with the same diagnosis helped her to get through the most difficult times of her illness. She often said she couldn't have coped sowell if she had not other teenagers to talk to. For this reason, Emily was keen to raise money for TCT to enable other units to be opened and give others the same opportunities.

The Fund is working with Teenage Cancer Trust to raise money for the proposed building of a new Teenage Cancer Unit at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

In loving memory of Emily the Begg family hope to raise as much money as possible to help others to have access to such services, which will brighten the lives of sick teenagers. They know Emily would be very proud of this.
