Emily's 16th Birthday
REMEMBERING EMILY
17 July 2008
Today would have been
Emily's 16th Birthday

Emily
Just Beautiful
November 2006 - Still Smiling
We wanted to honour and remember Emily in the most special way, mark her special day with love and style, bring her memory to the forefront of everyones hearts and minds, although for many Emily will always be remembered.
We decided to host a Summer Ball in Emily's name. Thanks to one very special and amazing friend, Sue Nicholls, the perfect setting was, found Friern Manor House and the date was set for 11 July. This was to be a night to remember what Emily meant to us, all those precious memories she has given us, our little girl would have soon celebrated her 16th Birthday, (Sweet Sixteen). We wanted to thank many special friends and family, who have tirelessly over the past 18 months continued to fund raise for Emily's chosen charity, The Teenage Cancer Trust. It was also another opportunity to raise money for the Emily Begg Fund.
During the organising of this event many very generous individuals and companies restored our faith in the human race, kindly donating some fantastic prizes for the raffles and auction.
As a tribute to Emily, Sue (Nicholls) worked constanly making sure eveything was organised and her attention to detail was outstanding. We could never have done it without you and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, you are a very special Lady. Sue's daughter Kelly found the time to create the most beautiful Menu cards even whilst looking after her delightful two year old twins, Gabriel and Isbella, we extend our sincere gratitude to Kelly.
All that was left was the hope that everyone would enjoy the evening.
The Evening was a great success - it was truly magical !!
The venue was perfect, as you can see from the photos, thanks to Sue it was a fairytale setting that any girl would have adored.
Em would have loved it

The hundred pink balloons were released at the beginning of the evening to say a Happy 16th Birthday to our beautiful Emily. It didn't quite go to plan due to the sudden down pour - they didn't all go at once as hoped but were sent off indidually, must have been Em's Birthday wish.

For a beautiful young lady - Emily

Everyone enjoyed the evening. Thank you to all at Friern Manor for making the night so wonderful. The service was wonderful and the chef excelled in his culinary expertise.

It was wonderful to have family and so many friends there and the presence of our nieces and nephews, who travelled from Scotland brought special meaning to the evening. Emily would have been delighted and we know it would have meant so much to her.
A special friend of Emily's, Liam Foster (Fozzy), travelled from Hull and played a very special guitar tribute to Emily. Sturart gave his own brave tribute to his precious daughter by singing 'Chasing Cars, by Snow Patrol', while Fozzy accompanied him on the guitar. Thank you to Fozzy - you were brilliant. It really was a remarkable and touching tribute by them both and Emily would have been amazed. (I did smile knowing Emily, she might never have allowed her dad to sing to her in public and I can hear her saying "no way dad".) Well done to both of you.
Thank you to all our wonderful friends and family whose generous contributions made the fundraising a big success, raising £3,000 for the Emily Begg Fund.
Everyone enjoyed the dancing and the feedback was "what a great night it had been". At the end of the night we looked around and realised just how extraordinary Emily was and how she had touched the lives and hearts of so many.
Emily you may not have been at our table,
but we know you were not far away.
We are so proud to have had you as our daughter.
Darling Emily
Happy 16th Birthday
All our love
Mum and Dad
